Samsung is looking to expand its contactless payment reach, as they have just announced earlier today that they’re joining the Contactless Companion Platform (CCP) initiative, along with ecosystem partners Smartlink and Ingenico.  Like Android Pay and Apple Pay, CCP relies exclusively on near field communications (NFC), and not Samsung’s proprietary Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST), to deliver payment information from a user’s device to a point-of-sale payment terminal. Samsung Galaxy S8 to Adopt Facial Recognition

When Samsung rolled out the Galaxy Note 7 last year, it introduced a new iris scanning technology designed to bolster device security. However the Galaxy’s note 7 life was short lived. Samsung has introduced a couple of new devices running Windows 10. The company introduced its new Galaxy Book which comes with two different devices: the Galaxy Book 10 and the Galaxy Book 12. Samsung plans to launch its Samsung Pay mobile payment solution in India in the first half of 2017, according to a person familiar with the matter Mashable Reports. The massive recall of one of Samsung’s flagship devices is an embarrassing setback for the world’s biggest selling smartphone maker. Apple has lost a ruling by a US trade panel in a patent dispute with its rival Samsung. The International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled that Apple infringed on a Samsung patent, which could mean some older models of the iPad and iPhone are banned from sale in the US. The patent relates to 3G wireless technology and the ability to transmit multiple services correctly and at the same time. Apple said it plans to appeal.
