Little, the ride hailing service in Kenya has today announced that they are suspending their Shuttle service again for an indefinite period.

“We deeply regret to announce that the Little Shuttle service has been temporarily suspended effective immediately,” they said in the communique. “We apologize profusely for the inconvenience but the service will be back with a bang very soon.”

They did not state the reason why they were suspending the service or give a definite timeline of when the service is yet to be back.

Little Shuttle has not had a booming operation that they were expecting. It was launched right after SWVL launched their bus hailing service and they basically created their own microcosm in the mass transport sector.

In October of 2019, Little were forced to shut down their Shuttle Service after they were told that the Little partners were not properly licenced. According to the CEO, Mr Kamal Budhabhatti, the company was open to a dialog with the authorities on how to work together to change the public transportation in Kenya.

Towards the end of October 2019, Little Shuttle became operational again but there wa a catch. They decided to change the type of vehicle that will be available to their customers where they ditch the buses (Toyota coasters) in favor of Toyota Noahs that did not fall under the category of matatus.

It has been less than three months since they announced that they were back to operating normally. This could be due to various factors which might be revealed later on.
